Jon Rahm will participate in the Farmers Insurance Open this Thursday, PGA Tour tournament held on the North and South courses at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. It will be the second tournament of the year for the Spanish golfer after having made the cut one week ago in the Career Builder Challenge.

Rahm will be playing at Torrey Pines for the first time as a professional, one of the most emblematic courses in the US. On the South course, the main one, where three of the four first rounds will be this week, is where the US Open was held in 2008, and Tiger has won there on eight separate occasions. Thus, it’s one of those places with character and tradition. Rahm will go into the week with the intention of climbing as far up to the top of the rankings as possible. He knows he has to work on a few things from the Career Builder Challenge, although there were many more positive points than negative. For example, one of the most resistant aspects was the drive. He knows he has to catch more fairways and that’s one of the objectives at Torrey Pines.

Rahm will play this Thursday and Friday alternating between the North and South courses. If he makes the cut, the two last rounds will be on the South course. His traveling companions the first two days will be Harold Varner III, winner of the European Tour this season, and Cameron Tringale. He’ll play on Thursday at 9:10 am local time, 6:10 pm Spanish time. The course is in good condition, although a bit wet and heavy. Accuracy off the tee will be key because the rough is a lot more difficult with the humidity.
