Jon Rahm was eliminated in the group stage of the WGC Dell Technologies Match Play. The golfer from Barrika beat Si Woo Kim with flying colors, but he lost to J.B. Holmes, and tied with Matt Kuchar in a game in which he deserved more.

He was on the brink of being able to win on the18th hole, and to force a tiebreak, but the birdie putt, after an excellent lob from the rough, fell by the wayside.

His loss to Holmes was strange. He played poorly, on the first two holes to the point which he was at six shots behind. However, far from giving up, he made four birdies in a row, and ended up losing on the 17th hole by 2 and 1.

Now it’s time to move forward with the peace of mind that he played better than what was reflected in the final score. But that’s match play, it’s not only dependent on what you do, but also the golfer who plays ahead of you.

Jon is now in full-on Masters de Augusta mode. He’ll rest this week, and next week will be the first Major of the season, in which he finished in fourth last place year.
