Jon Rahm will explore uncharted territory in his career this week. He’ll be playing for the first time in the Genesis Open, PGA Tour tournament, held at the Riviera Country Club, one the most legendary golf clubs in the US.

Rahm had it clear from day one that he wanted to play at Riviera. Since two years ago, when he tested the waters for the first time before embarking on his East Coast tour. It was a practice round, for fun, to get to know the course, and it was love at first sight.

Now, he’ll have the opportunity to try it out in competition. Jon is coming off a week’s rest, after a sensational start to the season. The golfer from Barrika currently has six top tens in a row under his belt, four of which have been in 2019. His game is in perfect shape, and the only goal is to maintain that same, vital consistency. To be exact, to make it Sunday, once again, with options to win.

Jon will play the two first rounds alongside Matt Kuchar and Bryson DeChambeau, two golfers who have already taken home the victory this season. The Genesis Open is the precursor to the WGC Mexico Championship, the first big tournament of the year, which will take place next week at the Club de Golf Chapultepec.
