Jon Rahm (-16) has finished the LIV Golf Adelaide, in Australia, in third place. This equals the best individual result he had achieved this season, another third place in the first tournament of the calendar at Mayakoba.

Rahm has fought for the victory once again until the last holes, especially thanks to a stratospheric final day of 64 strokes, the best of the day at The Grange Golf Club along with Kaymer, Schwartzel and Ancer. It was a fabulous comeback, with a partial six under par in his first nine holes, making the most of the par fives.

The golfer from Barrika came within one stroke of the lead at one point in the last round and had a clear birdie putt on his penultimate hole that escaped him. He really came very close to that long-awaited first victory in LIV Golf. In the end, he finished in third place with three rounds of 67, 69 and 64 strokes, two strokes behind Brendan Steele, the champion, and one behind Louis Oosthuizen, second alone.

Rahm really enjoyed the first competition of his career in Australia. The atmosphere was extraordinary, the best of all the tournaments held so far, and he would have loved to celebrate the victory with the cheering crowd. He will keep trying. Next stop: LIV Golf Singapore. In the team standings, Legion XIII finished in fifth place.

Jon’s first LIV win will come sooner or later. In the meantime, he keeps racking up good results. This is the sixth tournament of the year and he has finished in all of them in the top 10. His worst result has been an eighth. In the ranking he is second behind the Chilean Joaquín Niemann. Meanwhile, in the team rankings they are also in second place, behind the Crushers. Legion XIII has won two tournaments, has finished in the top 5 on five occasions and its worst result has been a thirteenth.
