Jon Rahm will participate in the Travelers Championship starting this Thursday, held on TPC River Highlands course in Cromwell, Connecticut. Rahm will start on the 10th hole at 8:50 am local time, six hours more in Spain, with Rob Oppenheim and Dawie van der Walt.

The Travelers will be Jon’s fifth tournament as a professional in the American Tour and the first one he’ll play after having reached the main goal of the season in record time: securing the PGA Tour card for next year.

Strangely enough, the Travelers Championship is one of the few professional tournaments that Rahm is familiar with. The Spanish golfer played in it last year. He made the cut and finished with rounds of 68, 68, 69 and 72 shots.

Rahm’s goal in his three weeks of competition before going to the FedEX Cup playoffs (Travelers, John Deere and Wyndham) is to take home a win that will lead him directly to that final phase of the season. He can only earn that right with a win, because it’s the way to be able to automatically earn the PGA Tour card without having to wait.
