Jon Rahm will compete in the Shell Houston Open starting this Thursday, PGA Tour tournament held at the Golf Club of Houston. It could be tempting to call this a transition week because it falls in between the WGC Dell Match Play and the Masters at Augusta. However, it really isn’t and, most of all, Jon is not taking it as such.

More like the opposite, the young golfer from Barrika will go into the week with the conviction that it’s the best way to prepare for the first major of the season, which starts next Thursday. And actually, it’s a known fact that the managers of the Golf Club of Houston do their best to recreate similar playing conditions to those at Augusta, which is coming up within a week’s time.

Thus, not a transition week at all. For example, in Houston he’ll be able to work on his short game which will be much needed in the Masters, with fast, hard surfaces and many run offs around the greens.

Jon will play this Thursday starting at 3:10 pm in the afternoon, Spanish time, and on Friday at 8:00 pm. He’ll play alongside Daniel Berger and Phil Mickelson.
