Jon Rahm will compete in a very special PGA Tour tournament starting this Thursday. It’s the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, with a different format than usual, in teams, with two four ball rounds and two foursomes, somewhat of a general rehearsal for the Ryder Cup, although in this case, the golfer from Barrika will not play with another European golfer.

This week at the TPC Avondale in Louisiana, the most important part is the comradery.

That’s why Jon will be paired with Wesley Bryan, his best friend in the PGA Tour. They’ve had a great relationship since the start. The Spanish golfer even stayed at Wesley’s house the week before the Masters, and they played several practice round together. It’s going to be a fun tournament held in team format. Jon and Wesley make for a powerhouse team, and compliment each other nicely with Jon’s immense strength from tee to green and Wesley’s sensational capabilities around the green.

We’re also talking about two of the best putters in the PGA Tour. A lethal mix. The first and third rounds will be held in four ball format, and the second and fourth rounds will be foursomes. The tournament will distribute 400 FedEx Cup points among the winners, which means it’s another opportunity to move up in the PGA Tour rankings. Jon will be coming off a fresh win in New Orleans after taking home the victory in the Open de España of the European Tour.

They will play at 7:52 am on Thursday morning with Jordan Spieth and Ryan Palmer, 2:52 pm Spanish time.
